Making Progress!

We are making progess!!!

I have been following the normal routine of bringing the birds weight down gradually until i get the responces i need.

She ate at around 1225g.

Started tearing at 1200g.

Now she is jumping at 1170.

I definitely need to get her weight down a little more, but this warm breezy weather aint helpin much!

Has anyone experienced a passage RT becoming vocal while trying to choose to jump or not? Just a little worrysome to have a vocal bird this early.

Here are some pictures to hold you over until i get some creance action... (hoping for the first outdoor session this weekend)

Introducing Maggie PFRT; 1290G

After a long and unsuccessful September of road trapping, i finally decided to call it quits and hit the ridges up for some early migrators.

I know what your thinking.... its still kind of early for RT migration, which is true, but i want to have the bird free flying early November so i need to start soon.

The winds on the ridge that morning were 10-13mph NW.... not too bad... this bird was the only the 3rd or 4th RT we saw... and the first one that was actually catchable... all in all, i only trapped for about 45 minutes.

Sorry for the picture quality... all cell phone pics... more to follow...

No More Road Trapping!

After a very lack-luster past two weeks, i have decided to retire from road trapping and move onto ridge trapping. The migration is starting in my area and i just cant afford to waste anymore time, money or miles in the pursuit of a perched bird.

Here's to praying for North West Winds :)
